Well written, funny story set in Washington state, about a book critic for a small town newspaper who zings a hot mystery author with her critical book reviews. Lots of verbal slings and arrows between h/h. I laughed till I cried a few times, some decent suspense and some wonderfully nutty supporting characters.

Great story. Liked all the characters. This is Soldier's story. The brothers, Soldier and Taylor have a really great relationship which extends to the second book in the series, Sighs Matters, which is Taylor's story.

An interesting story. The main character is a journalist who finds herself thrown together at a convention with the man who's books she's been trashing in review when a mysterious stalker turns up the heat.

A great book by the author. I've read four of her books and look forward to the next. She has a great way with dialogue and the characters are very strong.
This book is about Soldier McKennitt, a cop who has turned writer. The heroine, Betsey Tremaine, editor of a small town newspaper, writes very negative reviews about his books. They meet at a writers' conference and he becomes her protector when she is stalked. People start dying around her and the attraction heats up.

A mystery, a not so gorgeous newspaper editor and a gorgeous, burnt out cop-writer all combine for fun and good reading.

I really enjoy this book. It had a great plot, great characters and lots of laugh out loud going for it. This was my first book by this author and it won't be my last.

This is going to be an author to watch. Her writing is stellar in conveying humor in her characters dialoge. I laughed so much while reading her 2 books she has written. It is not slap stick humor, more very well written repartee between the main characters.

This book was okay. Not anything fabulous. Its the kind of mediocre book that makes you think; I can write something better than this!

Gotta say I enjoyed this book, I was surprised. The leading lady is beautiful but not classic willowy tiny etc etc etc that gets old after a while. The leading man was quick and witty. I liked the sparring between them. Its quick light and funny. I have read a couple of her books now and I have not been disappointed.

"Let me tell you, dear reader, I've rarely been subjected to such drivel as I have in the novels of bestselling tough-guy cop-turned-author J. Soldier McKennitt. The man himself, however, is considerably more intresting. Having finally met him at a recent writers' conference in Seattle, I am pleased to report that Soldier is a tall, dark, and gorgeous hunk of literary superstar. To my surprise, he became quite the charmer once his self-righteous indignation evaporated...Could this have been this critic's blonde hair and hourglass figure that brought about such an abrupt turnaround? Or perhaps or Soldier boy was simply vanquished by this reviewer's intelligence and caustic wit. In any case, due to the recent emergence of a crazed stalker, this plot has since thickened uncomfotly, and Detective McKennitt has brashly assumed the role of my knight in shining Brooks Brothers.
Bottom Line: The only thing standing in the way of a beautiful relationship in this love story is the fact that the two protagonists are so deliriously, passionately wrong for each!"

This book was funny and enjoyable to read.
