Wow! A book with a gooood storyline/plot, well-developed & motivated characters, lots of steamy sex scenes, some intrigue & suspense, & the requisite happy ending. What more can you ask for? This is not the best book I have ever read, but I did enjoy it immensely. Hope you do too.

I was actually a little disappointed in this book. The first few chapters were great and I expected to really like it. But the Author spent so much time describing the thoughts and feelings of the secondary characters (bad guys) that it took away from the main characters. You know exactly what the villain is planning early on in the book so it comes as no surprise. I didn't feel I needed to read about it every other chapter. I would've enjoyed more about the hero and heroine, how they fall in love and thwart the villain, not all about how the villain plans to seek revenge and kill them. I found myself skimming most of those chapters so I could get to the good stuff.

I really wanted like the book but I have 2 problems/complaint with this book:

1. All H/H seems to do is have sex and not really anything else is going on between these two. Even when heroin is telling the hero about her life, they are having sex while she is talking. And the hero never really open up to the heroin so I found it hard to believe that the heroin fell in love with somebody who she really knew nothing about. I really felt that there was really no real love but only lust between them.
2. The ending came out of no where. I felt like there were many loose ends that were left behind without letting the readers know what happened. I wish the author would have at least given us a epilogue to see what happened.

Overall, the book could have been better if the author put more storyline and less sex to it.

First time I've read this author and I didn't care for the book. Yes, the love scenes were steamy; but, really, how often do we have to hear about how big he is (all over), how much he's wanted her for years, etc. The female character was too needy and all suffering. I like a little backbone for my female characters. So much could have been done with the plot about the diamonds and the bad guy out to get the main characters. But it was as if the author just got tired of writing. The confrontation happened and that was the end of the book. The man never told the woman he loved her. There was no dramatic realization of happily ever after. All in all, I was disappointed in it.

Good read, enjoyable story, interesting characters. The parallel story lines were handled well. Although I liked the touch of sending the diamond money to a charity he has been supporting for sometime [although I DO wonder how you sell something like that, even with the connections Jack probably has] but I would like the climactic scene to have gone a bit farther. Caroline, who freaked when she first found out he was armed, is exposed to up-close-and-personal violence and the revelation of our hero's true identity all within a few pages. I'd like to have gone beyond the clinch and the 'ohmygod we're alive' scene ending.

If you enjoy this one, try her Midnight series.

Lisa Marie Rice knows her alpha male and his sexual appetites. The sex scenes were scalding hot and sweetly romantic. Jack's obsession and devotion to Caroline is believable and attractive. Caroline, polite and generous, shows her strength in morale character rather than the usual snappy heroine. Ms. Rice does have a habit of repeating herself, lots of internal dialog slowing down the rhythm of the character interaction, a good editor could make this into a 5 star book.

This book was hotter than I expected but the ending was definitely different. It was an ok read.

Really sexy, but I'd agree with the other reviewers, abrupt ending, and not enough of a time frame for love to really develop. It can happen and it seems to. Will read the epilogue on the website.

While I liked the overall story, the ending I felt left you hanging. It just ended so you have to assume they have a happy ending. There really was not closure IMO.
