*Sigh*...I REALLY want to love this book...I really do...But I can't...It's slow, boring, and the character development is nill...I enjoy the characters and can envision this book being a LOT better if written by someone with a bigger imagination...I am so dissapointed...I was really hoping that Elvis had more page time...But alas...The King was mentioned many times and had a few pages but nothing like I expected...I went into this book hoping that I would fall deeply in love with the series but I struggled through the first book...Don't think I will be reading any of the others...It's such a shame...

From the Books-a-Million website:
"Fried Green Tomatoes" meets Stephanie Plum in this sassy, Southern series, starring the lovable, eccentric Valentines and Callie Valentine's failed show dog, Elvis.

A fun read. Elvis is a dog, a basset hound, who actually tells the story. He is "the" Elvis, reincarnated. In this one, a body disappears from the funeral home. Everyone is suspect. Callie Valentine Jones, hairdresser to the dead AND the living, and her cousin take off to recover the body and stumble across another.
