Eric M. Breindel (1955—1998) was a former editorial page editor of the New York Post. He was briefly married to Tamar Jacoby, in the 1980s. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy, Harvard College and Harvard Law School before working in journalism.

He died of liver failure, having suffered from health problems throughout adulthood, as a result of AIDS, according to Michael Wolff in his book Murdoch Exposed.

Paleoconservative Steve Sailer strongly critiqued him after his death, referring to Breindel's 1983 arrest for buying heroin, among other episodes, Steve Sailer's iSteve Blog: Tamar Jacoby's late ex-husband / heroin junkie / neocon extraordinaire but Lawrence Auster defended Breindel against Sailer's charges.
