At first this book really catches your attention, the writing is very good and it's fun to read. The author talks about the paranormal events that take place in a house she moved into with her husband and children. The book chronicles the events over the years almost until the present day. I enjoyed reading the first part of it, but after awhile the stories become tedious and she could have condensed this book and you would have had the same experience I think. After awhile you begin to wonder if the author has psychological problems (she admits she does and goes on medication for them at one point), or if she's got dementia as her mother had towards the end of her life.
I'm a firm believer in the paranormal, however the author seems more desperate, fantical and sometimes crazy which is what I didn't like about this book.
Otherwise, it's a fun read, although I think it's too long.

Well, I really had high hopes for this book. But, unfortunately I was let down. Don't get me wrong, this woman is a great author and her writing is rather easy to read. But I just wasn't intrigued by this book. I didn't get the deep burning sensation to intintativly flip page after page. The stories were just bland in telling. I guess I was searching for something much more exciting. While she brings great experiences and feelings to the table that many paranormal beings do experience, I just wasn't impressed..she was also VERY REPITIVE. And that husband on her, I would of divorced him years ago!

a well written, interesting book. It captured my attention the entire time. It was funny and while I don't believe that I am haunted, I can relate to her frustrations with her husband & her son. I wish she'd write more. I'd like to know what's going on now.

Well-written (and funny!) story of the author's experiences living in a haunted house for nearly 40 years.

**spoiler alert** This book not only bored me to tears but irritated the hell out of me! Cannot recommend to anyone unless you feel like yawning the entire time you are reading one unexciting account after another of every time over nearly 40 years that she has not just lived with ghosts in her home but put up with all that entails. Now I have read more than my fair share of these kind of books due to having experienced it myself and I have to be honest with you, you DO NOT stick around to see what else is going to happen to you! You run as fast as you can and get out of there even if that means renting a place that's smaller, less nice, people (including her husband) maybe GASP!! thinking she is nuts, blah..blah..blah.. all her excuses she used for staying. (and to make it worse she still lives there today!)
Now when this also involves physical harm to yourself (and this is when she had very young children in the home with no guarantee it wouldn't happen to them also!!)well none of those excuses stand up to scrutiny do they? I honestly don't want to call the woman a liar but hey these ghostly encounters she supposedly has suffered from for so long gave her a good reason to write a book, market it as something readable and sell it to all of us! Nice way to make some cash!
I wish I had not wasted my time or my money.

I loved this book! It was so easy to read and I didn't want to put it down. While some readers say it was repetitious, I felt that when things weren't very active with the author's ghosts, she held my attention with the goings on in her life. I really felt compassion for the author and hope that she is doing well. I hope she writes another book to update us all on her haunted house.

I liked this book. Many times while I was reading I questioned the mental sanity of the author, It made me wonder if she imagined many of the stuff even when actually was happening in her house I think she exaggerated too much.
