Gregory V. Wilson (born January 25, 1963) is a software engineer and teacher based in Toronto, Canada. He has written books related to software engineering and children's' books.
Wilson received his Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and Engineering at Queen's University in 1984. At the University of Edinburgh, he received his Masters of Science in Information Technology in 1986 and his Ph.D. in 1993. He has worked on high-performance scientific computing, data visualization, and computer security. Wilson was the driving force behind the original Software Carpentry project, and is the creator of the open source course of the same name.
