i enjoyed this book it is the first V.I.Warshawski series I've read
I love golden retrievers and one of the draws of the series by Sara Paretsky is that her main character VI Warshawski has a golden retriever her life as well. That aside, the book is a fine example of Paretsky's love and knowledge of the city of Chicago.This particular case has VI checking out a potential scandal about union fraud, bankingand her ex-husband who has not had much of a feature in VI stories thus far.
This is one of the best in the series! In the 7th installment V. I. Warshawski, Chicago's PI, Vic becomes involved with her neighborhood. An old friend of Mr. Contreras is in trouble and then missing. The neighborhood has its own problems with new neighbors complaining and harassing the neighbors who have been around for many years. It includes more details on her ex-husband, a new love interest and a strained old friendship.
