Hilary Charlesworth is considered as the pioneer in feminist international law scholarship. Her groundbreaking book (co-authored with Professor Christine Chinkin) entitled The Boundaries of International Law: A Feminist Analysis has been awarded the Certificate of Merit by the American Society of International Law in 2001. For her outstanding contribution to the body of international law scholarship has earned her the American Society of International Law’s 2006 Goler T. Butcher Medal. Currently, she is an Australian Research Council Federation Fellow, Professor in RegNet and Director of the Centre for International Governance and Justice, ANU. She has serve as editorial member of many leading publications, including the American Journal of International Law and Cambridge Studies on International and Comparative Law. She is Director of the Centre for International Governance and Justice in the Regulatory Institutions Network at the Australian National University. In addition, she is also serve in many NGOs, including as a Patron of the ACT Women's Legal Service and advisory board member of the Institute for Migrant Rights.
