I love Ida Early from my childhood, and now my children do, too! It's been a wonderful family read-aloud. Now we're on Christmas with Ida Early.

From the cover - Life was rough in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia, but things certainly took a turn for the lively when Ida Early came over the mountain! For the four Sutton children, Ida appeared just in time. With their mother dead, their father at work, and unpredictable Ida hired on as housekeeper, bossy Aunt Earnestine might finally go back to Atlanta.

Ida brought laughter back into the household., And the Suttons got used to her strange appearance and grew to love the tall tales she told at the toss of her hat. But their friendship was put to the test when the Sutton kids learned that there was more to Ida Early than just her funny ways.
