This is a Dover reprint of a 1917 British book on preserving. Canning methods have changed, and are safer and somewhat easier, but I did use several of these recipes with great success, particularly those for marmalade; there are more than 20 marmalades. As with most good preserving manuals, this calls for weights, not volume measure.
