Jonathan Roberts (born 1956 Boston, Massachusetts) is an American Author, Screenwriter and Television producer, he is best-known for writing The Sure Thing, Once Bitten, The Lion King and James & the Giant Peach. He also has screen scredits on The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Jack Frost, The Emperor's New Groove, Dinosaur and Monsters, Inc.. His TV works include Fast Times, Head of the Class and Beverly Hills, 90210.
Born in Boston, Roberts studied English literature at Brown University and took a summer graduate program on book and magazine publishing at Harvard before launching his career. His book credits include The 80s: A Look Back, The Official Preppy Handbook, which became a New York Times bestseller, and How to California.
Roberts created and wrote a television pilot called Fast Times His additional TV credits include a two-year stint on Head of the Class as co-producer as well as a season as writer/producer on Beverly Hills, 90210.
His publishing work includes William Blake's Poetry, Mythic Woods, Cabbages & Kings, Data Visualization and Proceedings, International Conference on Coordinated & Multiple Views in Exploratory Visualization.
