L. Michael White is an American Biblical scholar. He is Ronald Nelson Smith Chair in Classics and Christian Origins, and director of the Institute for the Study of Antiquity and Christian Origins, at the University of Texas at Austin. He is the author or co-author of The Tabula of Cebes (1983), Building God's House in the Roman World (1990), The Times Atlas of the Bible (1991), The Social Origins of Christian Architecture (1996–1997), From Jesus to Christianity (2004), Field O (2009), and Scripting Jesus (2010).
White has appeared on PBS specials From Jesus to Christ: The First Christians (1998) and Apocalypse! Time, History, and Revolution (1999).
