First book I've read by this author and I am very impressed. Action, drama, suspense - it's all there. Keeps you guessing all the way through. As for C.J. - and you thought YOU had a bad day! Highly recommend this book and I'm looking for more by Mr. Prescott.

A young police officer is terrorized as a child by a man she calls "the boogeyman". Even as an adult, she can't shake the feeling that he is still out there after her. She just may be right.....

I really liked this book. I stayed up late just so I could see how it turned out. While the "bad guy" might be a little far-fetched, it was a good, nail-biting, page turner!

from the front flap:
She was only 10 years old. Caitlin Jean (CJ)Osborn was left alone in her home on the edge of the Mojave Desert after convincing her parents she didn't need a babysitter anymore. That proved to be a near fatal mistake, when a serial killer - preying on children - enters the home. CJ courageously fought him off with a knife, but no one believed her story. Ever since, CJ has refered to her assailant as "The Boogyman".
Now CJ has grown into one of the LAPD's finest officers, nick-named "Killer" by her cohorts, for her courage in the face of danger. And her boogyman finally has a name: The Hourglass Killer.
The madman never stopped hunting, never stopped victimizing children. He slays his victims precisely four hours after abducting them, leaving a tattoo of an hourglass on their bodies.
