Is there such a thing on PBS? I just saw "Divergence" had over 700 people waiting for it. I'm not going to live that long. I would love to make a copy of the list and see if I can get these free or for a song, so I could help out all those other people who, like me, are not going to live long enough to get their wish list books.
Thank you, Maysied, Judye |

Hi Judye, yes, there is a list of the top 50 WL books it's here. You can sort by, all time, seven days, 30 days.

What an odd assortment. No continuity at all. Well, I'll try. Maysied |

Judye, don't write off a book just because of a long wait. If we're talking about the same book (Divergent by Veronica Roth which has around 700 wishers for both paperback and hardcover versions), I've had both Wish Listed since last February. I'm still in the 200's on the hardcover but I'm at position number five on the paperback. According to my Wish List, a copy of the hardcover hasn't been posted since December but there were seven copies of the paperback posted last week. So one never knows. You could be in a long line that moves very quickly or you could be in a very short line that takes forever for someone to post a book. Just a thought :) |

Yeah sometimes those super long WL lines for super popular books move really fast. When the last Sookie Stackhouse book came out I was on the WL. But I ended up buying a copy. The WL went down over 50 people in the few days it took me to read the book after I got my copy. Quite often those books with super long WL lines end up becoming the ones with several hundred copies posted pretty quick. I remember when The Lost Symbol had several hundred on the WL and now there's thousands in the system under the various editions. Anyway, most likely you won't hvae to wait that long if you don't happen to find it anywhere cheap. Once they start showing up cheap in the thrift stores is when the WL line starts to move quickly. I always just look for used books I want to read when I go the thrift storeor UBS. |

I am not going to mention "that place" again. But, I suggested it to a friend, and she had a book she had been waiting on for a year - in 5 days! She was so happy and did not mind paying the extra dollar. I feel that way. On George RR Martin, I'm going to that place and fill out my collection. Good Lord, there are 800+ members waiting on his books. That's the way I choose to handle it. I'm not waiting a year for a book over a dollar. But this is a very fun place to start, and the people are always so nice. I just got a box of MAB books (14) Sat., and I was thrilled with them. Only one was not my taste, and I quickly had wish listers after it. So, no loss. Now I have a bunch more series to complete. I love doing that! It's like a small puzzle. I haven't had this much fun since the hogs ate my little brother! (this is a southern joke) Maysied/Judy |
