Having completed his phenomenally successful "Christmas Box" trilogy, Evans is set to move on. His new work features Michael Romney, an aimless young man working in a rest home whose contact with the elderly Esther turns his life around

"It is not difficult to write a novel," wrote one novelist, "just slit your wrists and let them bleed over the pages." There is a lot of blood in this story...from the acknowledgements

I really liked this book, and I wasn't sure I would at first. The chapters fly by, though, and before you know it, you're done! I hope you give this book a chance, you won't regret it!

Very moving story which you cannot put down at the end. I love the way Paul Evans writes. There is always a lesson and meaning. Good prevails over evil. On a scale of 1 to 10 this would be a 9.

I highly recommend The Locket by Richard Paul Evans as well all of his other books. There is no vulgarity in them nor are there cursing.
Mr. Evans writes a very interesting.......page turning book! I couldn't put it down......kept thinking "Just one more page".

I am new to reading this author. I noticed he has series and the titles all seem to have objects, like the locket, the timepiece, the letter.

As I was reading this, I kept thinking this reads like O. Henry. A young couple struggling with their love in the face of economic differences. Will their love hold true in the face of a strong rich daddy who opposes?

Our Main character, Michael, is likeable, and almost unbelievable, as he seems too perfect. Oh wait he has a flaw, he hasnt forgiven his alcoholic father who is now dead.

After the death of his mother, Michael Keddington finds employment at the Arcadia nursing home where he befriends Esther, a reclusive but beautiful elderly woman who lives in mourning for her youth and lost love.
Michael faces his own challenges when he loses his greatest love, Faye. When Michael is falsely accused of abusing one of the Arcadia's residents, he learns important lessons about faith, forgiveness and second chances from Ester

I liked the few courtroom surprises. I liked the relationship with Ester, I even was ok with the realistic ending to Ester's search for her lost love.

There are 2 more books in the locket series. I do plan to read on.
