I am new to reading this author. I noticed he has series and the titles all seem to have objects, like the locket, the timepiece, the letter.

As I was reading this, I kept thinking this reads like O. Henry. A young couple struggling with their love in the face of economic differences. Will their love hold true in the face of a strong rich daddy who opposes?

Our Main character, Michael, is likeable, and almost unbelievable, as he seems too perfect. Oh wait he has a flaw, he hasnt forgiven his alcoholic father who is now dead.

After the death of his mother, Michael Keddington finds employment at the Arcadia nursing home where he befriends Esther, a reclusive but beautiful elderly woman who lives in mourning for her youth and lost love.
Michael faces his own challenges when he loses his greatest love, Faye. When Michael is falsely accused of abusing one of the Arcadia's residents, he learns important lessons about faith, forgiveness and second chances from Ester

I liked the few courtroom surprises. I liked the relationship with Ester, I even was ok with the realistic ending to Ester's search for her lost love.

There are 2 more books in the locket series. I do plan to read on.
