Hello All-

I have a book that I requested a while back (8/1), the sender maccepted the offer and the book was mailed on (8/4). I have yet to recieve this book. I am wondering what may have happened to it. What should I do if it never shows up? Do I ask the sender for a credit back? Please help..i am very lost and this has never happened to me before. Usually books are recieved about a week (or less) after the mail date

The book will automatically be marked as lost on a certain date. It will tell you the date that will happen if you click on the "en route to me" tab on your account page.

Once it is declared lost, your credit will be returned to your account.

I requested a book on 7/30.  Sender said she mailed it on 8/4.  I just received it today.  Postmarked 8/10.  Obviously, sender mailed book after she said she did.

So.... There's still hope for yours.  But in case is doesn't show up, as Lisa said, you'll get your credit back.

If it was sent media mail, it might take several weeks.  It really amazes me how many weeks it takes media mail to travel, even if it's to the state next to yours.  I'm from NC and mailed a book to VA on the 9th.  It still hasn't arrived.

I'm still waiting for a book that supposedly was mailed on 8/2.  Maryland to Massachusetts.  In the mean time, I've received books that have traveled farther.  No rhyme or reason to it.

I still haven't received 2 books, one was mailed on 8/1 and the other one on 8/3 according to the details. Think that is kinda of on the taking too long side. The sad thing to me is that they are both wishlist books.  Have at least another week to get here before going lost. Then if they do end up going lost, I will be put back 1st in line.

Mine is a WL book, too.  Not popular book, so it took me a long time to get to 1st in line.  If I have to wait again.....

You will not have to wait again Kathy.  When the FIFO system marks the book 'lost' you will be returned to your former WL position.  If you are unfamiliar with the guidelines on this subject they are available here, there's information you should know.
