This is basically one long commercial for the author's products.

It is just another twist on the now common-place and common-sense advice to eat close to the source: Eat whole grains, fruits, meats, vegetables (as organic as possible, unrefined, as little processed as possible). Eat some fermented foods (kefir, fermented vegetables, etc.) There is a bunch of nice recipes in the back.

Nothing new for someone who's been around for more than 30 years. The extensive list of recommended companies and websites in the back prominently contains the author's different companies (and if you do some clicking you will see that other companies are also linked in some way to the author).

This is a self-caretaking book. Good for those who are fully committed to better health.

This is good book for someone just beginning the self-caretaking journey. It contains just about everything, though discoveries after 2004 obviously are not included. I believe Rubin is sincere and well-informed, and I wish I had discovered his book at the beginning of my own journey. The book may challenge someone who is uninformed about the matters Rubin discusses, and some may be put off by the book's depth, but I believe the information is sound and that Rubin himself offers what he considers it mandatory to know in this day and age for improved health.

If you have the time to do what is required, this could be an interesting diet.

It's a standard common-sense diet book sprinkled with scriptures. What I found suspicious was the dirt thing, I looked into it and the ONLY company selling the purified dirt was the author's company Garden of Life. I doubt that's FDA regulated. Entire book summarized: Don't eat sugar or red meat and eat more vegetables and white meat.

Jordan Rubin's story is amazing. For years I have learned from friends that have made these changes in their lives and see that they are vibrant, energetic and confident in the gradual success of applying the information. I have found that this is real, and truthful and there is no reason why any person couldn't go about these changes successfully. Read it carefully, adapt to what you can and strive to do more in time. He does NOT deter us from medical care, if needed, so it is safe and reliable.
Hope you find the relief and freedom I have found and apply it regularly.
