Martin Kitchen is a Professor Emeritus of history at Simon Fraser University, a member of the Royal Society of Canada and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford and the School of Slavonic and East European Studies at the University of London. He is a specialist in modern European history, with an emphasis on Germany.
