When I first started reading this book I was a little put off by the author's approach of having each character tell the same story from their viewpoint...I found it a little tedious. But somewhere along the way that approach started to work for me and I ended up enjoying this book as much as I have enjoyed the others. That unique approach of the author's also allowed her to do a depth of character development on the characters that we have read about in all the previous books, that apparently was not possible before and having so many of the characters in this series fleshed out will definitely add to my enjoyment of the rest of the books in this series.
6th in the Elm Creek Quilts series. Can be read separately~~no need to read in order. Each of the Elm Creek staff is experiencing changes in their lives as they seek ways to honor the founder of the group with a very special surprise. Excellent series.
This is a different approach by the author this time as she goes into the lives of each of the elm creek quilters. The running theme through the book is making a wedding quilt for Sylvia and Andrew. It is another masterfully told story by this author.
Sixth book in the NEW YORK TIMES bestselling Elm Creek Quilts series continues the series with a tribute to matriarch Sylvia Compson, who surprised her fellow quilters by getting married to longtime sweetheart Andrew on her recent holiday. Eager to honor their favorite Master Quilter, the Elm Creek Quilters hasten to stitch a bridal quilt for the newlyweds. Until the time comes to unveil the gift, Sylvia will be the one in the dark. Such little white lies seem harmless enough, but the quilting retreat established at Elm Creek Manor thrives on women sharing their creativity, their challenges, and their dreams. Somehow, in their race to commemorate the bride and infuse the quilt with all they hold dear about Sylvia, they forget to give honesty its pride of place, and closely guarded secets strain the bonds of friendship.
Another wonderful Elm creek book. I love this series so much I might reread it. It has gotten me back into reading like I did when I was a young girl. Couldn't put them down read til midnight to finish it.
Another in the great series of the Elm Creek Quilters! As the quilters plan a surprise, their plans are disrupted. But their plans to honor one of their own go forward even as secrets in the midst of their friendships almost pull them apart in different directions!
With the sound of wedding bells ringing in the ears of Elm Creek Quilters, the close-knit group can hardly believe that their ownSyvia Compson planned her holiday wedding to sweetheart Andrew in complete secrecy, without the help of even one of hewr friends.
