I just got an email about a new feature on the home page, but I can't seem to make it work!  Anyone else having this problem?  It's something to do with selecting genres of interest so that newly entered book titles in that genre will show up on your page.

Puzzled.

I just checked my emails back to Aug.1, and I didn't get anything like that.  Maybe you are a test case?

It was in the August NewsWire, which I just received today via email.  Here's what it says:

Member Homepage.  New feature.  This is the page you will see now if you click Home when you are logged into the site.  It has all kinds of nifty stuff on it, including recently-posted AVAILABLE books in the genres you are interested in, recently-posted AVAILABLE books in all genres, Recent Book Reviews, and the New Member Spotlight.   When you first go to the Member Homepage you will need to choose your favorite genres (you can edit these at any time!) to personalize the books displayed at the top of your Member Homepage.  The most recently-written Review will also appear on the Homepage (this will change frequently), and the New Member Spotlight will showcase  recently-joined members who have posted books.  So, for all those members who never click Home because it's always shown the same old stuff...you can go home again!  Read more about the Member Homepage here.

It showed up in my spam folder (which never happens with PBS emails) so maybe check there?

The changes haven't gone into effect just yet. They'll be happening sometime this week.

From the newswire

You can expect the following changes (and more!) to be implemented the week of August 11th.  To read about all of the items below, you can go to the Help Center and read the items under What's New on the left side of the Browse Help Docs page.

I saw the new homepage this morning.  I have to say that I really like it.  I love the fact that I can pick 3 genres as Favs and view available books from the three types together.  Way to go PBS!!

The one I really like (just noticed it this morning) is that if you are listing a book you haven't read, you don't have to remember to uncheck the "books I've read" box before listing--now it says in order to have the option to list it as a book I've read, you have to give a rating (using those stars.) I imagine that will be nice for those who look at a book's ratings before ordering it.

(Not that I'm going to get them with Mt. TBR as high as it is).

I selected my 3 favorite genres and the books that popped up afterwards all looked interesting -- every single one of them!

Good going, PBS.

I spoke too soon.  I had set it to Education > something and then Children's Lit.>something>something but it's showing up now.  I think it had to burp, first.  :)
