Ngaire Woods (pronounced "Nyree") is a New Zealand-born British academic.

Woods was educated at the University of Auckland where she graduated with a BA in economics and a LLB (Hons) in law. She studied at Balliol College, Oxford as a New Zealand Rhodes Scholar, completing an M.Phil in International Relations (with Distinction) and a D.Phil. From 1990 to 1992, she was a Junior Research Fellowship at New College, Oxford and subsequently taught at the Government Department at Harvard University before taking up her Fellowship at University College, Oxford.

She is a Professor of International Political Economy and fellow in Politics and International Relations and Dean of Graduates at University College, Oxford, and Director of the Global Economic Governance Programme at the Department of Politics and International Relations and Centre for International Studies of the University of Oxford. Her major academic interests include the United Nations and globalization. She also teaches for the TRIUM Global Executive MBA Program, an alliance of NYU Stern, the London School of Economics and HEC School of Management.

Professor Woods is a member of the editorial advisory board for the Ethics & International Affairs journal. She is a governor of the Ditchley Foundation. In 2009 she became a Trustee of the Rhodes Trust. She is also the head of the Blavatnik School of Government which will admit its first students in 2012.
