Noreen Renier is an American author of A Mind for Murder and self-described “super psychic” who has made appearances on national television displaying her claims of paranormal powers, as well as criticisms of various skeptical investigators and writers.

While she claims the distinction of having been termed “the most credible psychic out there” by Court TV, in fact a part time moderator covering their webcasts simply noted "she seemed the most credible psychic out there." Former New York detective Vernon Geberth, author of the police and FBI training handbook Practical Homicide Investigations, included a highly controversial and pro-paranormal chapter about Renier’s work three decades ago and called her “the only psychic I would consider using.” http://noreenrenier.com/media/books/booksfeaturingnoreen.htm

Various critics have found many of her claims exaggerated and/or unfounded. In 2006 and 2007 a Washington federal court ordered judgments against Noreen Renier and ruled in favor of a Tennessee writer who described tales she offered in her 2005 edition of 'A Mind For Murder' as "an elaborate charade" of exaggerations. A critical web site link originally posted here in 2006 is available that examines that critics findings at http://www.commentarybysherlock.com/ with specific references concerning disputed 2005 claims in Renier's book regarding the critic's investigation as outlined in 2005 at http://www.commentarybysherlock.com/commentarybysherlock/runwaypart1.asp

Noreen Renier lectured for a few minutes three decades ago at the FBI Academy and Police Training Center but has never been active in an FBI investigation according to an FBI senior official. She has many supporters of her psychic work. -Pamela Hodges
