The medical intrique part was well done and not too predictable. I had a whole other theory of what happened and "who done it". However, the book was way too long. The main medical mystery did not have enough separate events - just one OR event and the rest was her emotional state and all the legal ramifications.
All of the sub-plots involving her dad and her sister added nothing and could have been left out. There were no new medical incidents to build the tension. Certainly not a page turner.

Initally, I liked this book, but it seemed to stall once I got past the beginning. The ending wrapped things up a little too neatly for it to be believeable as well.

Very good medical drama about Marie Heaton, an anesthesiologist working in an operating room in a Seattle hospital. When the death of a child in her operating room occurs, she is forced to re-examine everything that she did and all that is important to her. There is a great twist at the end that I doubt anyone would see coming. The characters are all too human and the plot moves along quickly without bogging down.

I enjoyed this book very much - if you are a Jodi Picoult fan, I think you'd like it too. Very emotional and warm yet fraught with tension! Great story.

I thought this book's surprising twist at the end made it worth reading. Great novel about an independent woman in a very difficult field where one needs to never make a mistake.

Great read. Unexpected twists and turns. Nothing predictable here. A story about a little girl who dies on the operating table and all of the people this affects.

I liked this book. It was about an anesthesiologist and the author is one. It is a combition of her career and a little bit of a mystery. It was well written and flowed smoothly. I enjoyed it and I think anyone would.

Different and interesting, a smoothe blending of information and mystery. I admit I 'guessed' it before the end, but it was still well done and camouflaged. Two nights by the fireplace with the book were good in winter.
