As a former Marine and military sci-fi fan, I enjoyed the Starfist series. However, this Force Recon part of the series is a bit overdone. The author seems to be running out of ideas. Plus, in this series he seems obsessed with cigars, incompetent army officers, and 2-dinemsional characters.
