'The Price' is an intriguing, easy read along the same lines of the Spitzer/Ashley Dupre scandal. Natalie, or Natalia, briefly recounts her drug-filled adolescence and growing up without a father figure. Dreaming of an acting career, Natalia leaves Canada and moves to NYC. Low and behold, the acting career does not materialize and Natalia finds herself sucked into the escort lifestyle. She quickly earns rave reviews, and is soon earning $2,000/per hour at New York Confidential agency. All the while, Natalia falls deeper and deeper into her drug addictions, staying up for days on end with the help of cocaine and prescription drugs. Unsurprisingly, New York Confidential is busted by the authorities, many are arrested and prosecuted, and Natalie is left to figure out what to do with her life.

'The Price' is patchy, abruptly switching from one story to another, but nevertheless a quick and enjoyable read. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but her somewhat erratic writing style contributes to the reader understanding her state of mind - constantly on one drug or another, hazy, confused, etc. I give a lot of credit to Natalia for wanting to be honest about her former lifestyle, and not sparing any details in her autobiography.

Well written, reads fast. If you like this one try "Education of a Very Young Madam" by Mai-Ling Lee which covers a similar subject matter.
