Couldn't put this one down. It's like "Into Thin Air", except with a running medical commentary that was fascinating.

A superbly-written biography of the NYC Mayor (1977-89), which essentially picks up where Vincent Cannato's equally well-written biogrpahy of NYC Mayor John Lindsay (1965-73) "The Ungovernable City" leaves off. It is fast moving, insightful and well-researched.

Regardless what you think of Cheney's politics, I thought the book was superbly written, fast moving and crammed with lots of interesting trivia about the many political figures he discusses. It reads a lot like another one of my favorites, James Baker's "Work hard...study...and stay out of politics!" Highly recommended.

I got this book with hopes he would discuss the complexities of running Starbucks as its CEO. Instead he spends most of the book heaping praise on everyone and discussing his "vision" for the company, with very little on the nuts and bolts or the job. He's also vague at best when discussing some of the bad times (for example, firing the former CEO) and instead just keeps rehashing a Kumbaya type vision for the future. Disappointing.

Good Providence, Rhode Island political memoir told in a funny, light-hearted manner. He's candid about the highs and lows of his political career as well as his failings. However he doesn't tell it chronologically, he bounces around in time a lot. The chapters are too long and i would have liked to read more on his time in prison.

Another good political memoir, written with very short chapters (which I like). Skip the folksy stories at the start, and fast forward to when he first gets his start in Arkansas politics.
