I have read all of Stephen White's novels and enjoyed them immensely. In Priviledged Information we are introduced to Alan Gregory who is a very interesting character. This book is a real thriller and very suspenseful. I could not put it down, like all of White's books. I find his books every bit as good as Jonathan Kellerman's. Perhaps more so as Alan Gregory's relationships with others are explored more deeply than Alex Delaware's.

Well read and not bad for a first book. White gets a little OCD about the concept of privilege as it pertains to psychologist/patient relationships. My assumption while listening to it was that White was still a practicing psychologist at the time and was therefore assuming that his patients might read his book. Don't know if this is true, but it seems a little self-conscious. Nonetheless, to really appreciate this series you need to start at the beginning, which is this book. He gets better and better--more relaxed in his writing. So, this is a must read/listen.

This was the first book by White that I have read and I was not disappointed. The story moved at a decent pace and had some suspense. I was a little bothered with so much of the focus being on the confidentiality it became repetitive. White does an excellent job developing all of his characters. A very good read. I can't wait to start Private Practices the next in the series.

Clinical psychologist Dr. Alan Gregory faces professional and personal disgrace when several of his attractive female patients are found dead. When the first murder victim is found with a diary detailing her bizarre sexual infatuation for Dr. Gregory, he becomes the prime suspect in the investigation. As more of his patients are murdered, Alan faces a dilemma, the evidence that will clear his name is privileged information that he can't reveal at the risk of breaching his professional ethics. But in order to save his life, Dr. Gregory must discover which of his patients is a potential killer.

I have had this book on my bookshelf for about three years and have only just sat down to read it. I'm so glad that I did as it was truly an engrossing read that I almost didn't want to end. I give this book an A+! and look forward to tracking down more of Stephen White's books to read. There are now about nineteen or twenty books in the Alan Gregory Series, and I can't wait to read more from Stephen White.

Clinical psychologist Alan Gregory is having a run of very bad luck: his wife has left him, he is being accused of sexual misconduct with a patient, and his dog has been given a very weird haircut. But when his female patients start turning up dead, he has to try to figure out who could be responsible, and why. And will any of this sour his new relationship with the very attractive assistant DA, who has a secret or two of her own.

This was Stephen White's first book in the Alan Gregory series which I really like. It was okay but had I read this one before any of the others I would never have read another Stephen White book. I thought it would never end.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I've read several of the books later in the series and it was nice to know how it all began. On the down side, I thought the book dragged in spots with nothing happening to move the story along. I understood how frightened he was and didn't need to hear it over and over. But that said, it's well worth reading if you like this series or if you've never read anything in the series, what better place to start than in the beginning.
