I just discovered this detective series about a month ago. The first novel was interesting so I ordered Ragtime in Simla. It was even better than the first book in the series! I'm currently looking forward to two more Joe Sandilands novels arrival. Happy reader!

Sandilands really lands in trouble up to his ears. The story is fully developed and Joe must catch up. He is helped by many people but are those people really helping him or hendering him? There seems to be so much action that had occured before Joe's arrival that must be explained and the explanations are well done. Great story.

These books are set in the last days of the Raj in India. The mysteries are good, the settings are meticulously research and I am enjoying the whole series.
