My library is having a "friends of the library" sale this weekend and I, of course, want to pick some up that will be appreciated here ... but I'm a little confused because some of the "most requested" books are with authors that other people have told me I shouldn't buy because there are so many copies in the system already (grisham, etc) ... So is there a way to find most requested books with few system copies?
Thanks for your help! |

Hi Kelly, If you go to the grey tabs at the top, choose Community and then TOP 50's. You will see top 50 requested books and top 50 wished for books. Here is a link: http://www.paperbackswap.com/book/top_50.php#t=requested

Here you will find the Top 50. If you look at "Most Wished For" and "Most Requested" you'll get a pretty good idea. Also paranormal, erotica, and cookbooks by anyone on the food network seem to do very well. Also any sort of art book will be snapped up pretty quickly. Christina beat me to it! Those popular authors do get requested. But they have so many copies in the system that it can take awhile. The Top 50 requested books-that's of all time. So they may not be getting requested as quickly now as they once were. The last 3 Nora Roberts books I posted each had over 1,000 copies in the system. So even if 25 copies a week were being requested-that's almost a year before the last one posted works it's way to the top. So unless you don't mind storing them for awhile-I wouldn't get them unless they are the most recently released book.
I find celebrity cooksbooks and recent cookbooks, paranomals (romance and non-romance), erotica, tradesized Christian Romance, Urban Fantasy and Manga go pretty quickly. |

You can sort the top 50 by week, month or all time. |
