Pitcairn has had a 100% homeopathic veterinary practice since 1978. In 1992 he initiated a 130 hour post-graduate certification training program in clinical homeopathy for licensed veterinarians.

Raw Meat

He is a strong advocate of feeding dogs and cats a raw meat diet, Pitcairn claims that such a regimen is very healthy for dogs and cats; among other things, he recommends raw meat to support the health of cats with kidney disease, a position not held by all experts.

Vaccine Avoidance

Pitcairn also argues for avoiding over-vaccination
