The beginning of the Landry series, this book is one of the best by the author that I've read. As twisted as most books written by Andrews, this one also hits close to the heart at times-a good read, with a bit of mature content.

I remember reading this book in one day when I was in High School, and I still remember it vividly. It is my favorite of ALL V.C. Andrews books, and will keep you captivated until the end! I especially love the Bayou setting, and the way it's described it makes you feel like you're there!

Very enjoyable book. Does Bk. 1 mean that there are follow-ups to this part? I'd love to find out how Ruby's life turned out in later years.
