This is a very good book filled with twists and turns. One of Baldacci's best.
I love the way Baldacci spins a story. A great read.
Where is David Baldacci and what have you done to him? So many questions about this book: Was there a word minimum? Was there a contest to see how many times the characters could eat at a diner?...or rent a car?...or fly on a plane?

This had me completely engrossed from the start. Story flows from start to finish without falling into the "too wordy" trap that some authors do. Some of the twists I just did not see coming!

One of the very best King and Maxwell thrillers yet! Who can be trusted, and who're the bad one(s) at the highest government levels? Convoluted as a pile of spaghetti, and a totally unanticipated twist at the end. Non stop action and thoroughly enjoyable.
Easy book to read. It did hold my interest. It was good but isn't destined to become a classic.

As usual, a great Baldacci read!!
David Baldacci is hit or miss. He is churning out a couple a books a year these days and to do so he often abandons critical elements of writing such as plot, character development and serious dialogue. Initially "The Sixth Man" seemed farfetched (but with the government who knows) but I began to get into the story as it progressed - in other words, it got better. A couple of plot twists weren't hard to figure out in advance but Baldacci revealed them in such as way that it still had an impact. "The Sixth Man" is more hit than miss. If you like Baldacci, you probably won't be disappointed.

This was the fifth book in the Sean King and Michelle Maxwell series. I enjoyed this book but did find that it had some slow parts in the middle. It had an exciting plot and lots of interesting characters. Some to like and some not to like so much. I was glad to see that Sean is sharing more things with Michelle better than in books previously and their relationship is finally going well. There are also lots of twists and turns and a very surprise ending that I didn't think was going to happen. I'm looking forward to the last book of the series but I am not to happy this series in ending. I would highly recommend this series to those who like mysteries with lots of action.

Great Read. Baldacci: what can I say :-). Kept me up at night to finish it. And it's located ostly in my state: Maine, so the descriptions and towns set rang ture (except of course for the fictional max security prison on the coast. A really cool character in Roy who's mind is in the top echelon of humans: an idelic (sp?) mind.

I now have read all of David Baldacci's books in the King & Maxwell series. I like the writer and I liked the series. Sometimes I think the story gets a little far fetched, but maybe that is what the future holds. We can only wait and see.

Private Investigators Sean King and Michelle Maxwell are contacted by Attorney Ted Bergin. Mr. Bergin's client, Edgar Roy, is an accused serial killer locked up in a high security medical prison in Maine. Mr. Bergin says something isn't right with this case and wants Sean and Michelle to look into the crimes. But as soon as they get to Maine, they discover Ted Bergin's body. He was shot at close range with a small caliber bullet. The FBI become involved in the case, telling Sean that they need to stay out of it. But, since they were hired to look into Edgar Roy, Sean and Michelle decide to continue on their original inquiry into his crimes.
The fifth book in the King and Maxwell series grabs you right from the beginning and doesn't let go. There is a lot going on in this story and a lot of suspects. It's fast moving and never lets up till the end. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

Terrible book; didn't finish; same repeated storyline; no originality
this is a great read
Crime fiction pub 2011, 5th King and Maxwell book series. The Secretary of Homeland Security tries to shut down a secret government program and the top analyst. It is an intricate plot.
Another great Baldacci story.
