This book had most of the things I enjoy reading: mail-order bride (though she didn't know it), orphaned children, and set in the American west (in this case Texas). Elthia contracted to be a governess, but when she arrives, he's expecting a mail-order bride. Good story.
I love books on "mail order brides" especially when there are orphaned children that need to be taken care of by the "new" couple. This was a good one on that sort of subject. I will be looking for more like that.
