This is the first of a series and I thought it was one of the best I've read in a long time. Series centers around 2 young lawyers (ex-spouses) and in this one they defend another lawyer accused of murdering 2 of his associates. I look forward to the others in this series.

First book in the series, introducing Mike Daley and his law partner, Rosie Fernandez, who is also his ex-wife. Mike is the narrator, and he tells his audience all the wisecracks he knows better than to utter while questioning a (usually hostile)witness.

Mike Daley, ex-priest, attorney and soon to be ex-partner at one of the most prestigious law firms in San Francisco is caught up in defending his best friend for the murders of two of the firm's attorneys. While Daley is going up against a new but savvy district attorney, he is convinced that his best friend is innocent, that is until more and more bizarre findings come to light. Sheldon Siegel is "an electrifying new voice in legal fiction".
