Naples 1943. All the residents have fled leaving only a couple hundred children. The Germans are heading to town to destroy the city knowing they can't win the war. One American soldier along with a drunk and the kids decide to go to war with the Nazi's. Warfare is a little unrealistic but interesting>

Naples, Italy, during four fateful days in the fall of 1943. The only people left in the shattered, bombed out city are the lost, abandoned children whose only goal is to survive another day. No one could imagine that they would become fearless fighters and the unlikeliest heroes of WWII. Here are children, some as young as ten, who take on the German army, armed with just a handful of guns, unexploded bombs, and their own ingenuity; children who are determined to defeat the advancing enemy and save their city - or die trying. Fighting alongside them is Conners, a soldier sent on reconnaissance, now cut off from his comrades and thrown into the fray.
