Wayne Thomas Batson (born 1968 in Seabrook, Maryland) is an American writer. He has been married to his wife for eleven years and has four children. In 2005 - 2006, Batson wrote The Door Within Trilogy (1. The Door Within 2. The Rise of the Wyrm Lord 3. The Final Storm), published by Tommy Nelson, a division of Thomas Nelson Publishing House.

In September 2007, he created another book entitled Isle of Swords, published by Thomas Nelson Publishing House. Its sequel, Isle of Fire was also written and was released on September 9, 2008. Wayne is also writing a new series called The Dark Sea Annals to be published by AMG publishing. The tentative title of the first book, which is to be released in October 2010, is Sword in the Stars. The second book is tentatively titled The Errant King and is scheduled for a Fall 2011 release.

He currently works as a teacher at Folly Quarter Middle School teaching sixth grade reading and English.

In the Fall of 2008 he announced that he was also co-authoring at least three books with fantasy author Christopher Hopper. The series is titled The Berinfell Prophecies. The first of which was released on November 3, 2009 titled Curse of the Spider King. The second followed on July 13, 2010, entitled Venom and Song. The third will will be titled Tearing of the Veil, though the release date has yet to be announced.

Mr. Batson is currently working on a supernatural thriller aimed at more mature audiences than his previous books. Ghost (tentative title) is scheduled for a Spring 2011 release.
