Just posted The Accidental Vampire by Lynsay Sands if anyone is interested. |

I love that book even though it's lightweight. Just love the crusty Victor and Evie. One of only 2 titles in the series that I keep just for some light reading! |

I have the following two WL'd books and would prefer to mail them as part of multi-book orders to save postage (not necessarily together, of course):
Cindy ,whats bm ? |
She's taking them to a different site to list them.

BM is my shortened version of Bookmooch. But ok, I'm stopping talking now, because I just got in trouble for listing the books, asking for credits, plus talking about it (Yep, nice huh) so change of subject. Last Edited on: 9/1/09 4:06 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

If they were ARCs or damaged, you certainly can ask for credit for them and this is the appropriate place to do so. The PBS team has been clear that you can't list them on your shelf but can ask for credit via a thread like this providing you list the damage. |

Bummer, more wishlisted books gone to another site. Not like PBS wishlists aren't already 3 times longer than they were a year ago... |
They might still be here if people didn't complain that she wanted the credits buddied instead of posting ARC's (which are not postable) to their wish lists. Cindy has posted how many books in these threads? I think it's clear we can trust her. |

K, since I am really new to this whole PBS thing, why were people mad at Cindy? I am just trying to understand what it was that she was doing wrong, since I may inadvertly do the same thing. Can someone please 'splain? |

Arghh.. I missed Bengal's Heart! |

I don't see anything wrong with what she was doing at all. If the books were unpostable, she'd be doing exactly the correct method. Since the books are postable, some might bitch that she's trying to go around the official PBS channels by having credits buddied and not posting to the actual site. But since this entire thread is about bypassing the FIFO and going straight to a specific individual- which in a way violates PBS priniciples to begin with- I don't have an issue. The only thing she could have done differently would be to have people put the books on AR, instead of doing a buddy credit thing or lie and say they were unpostable. The only advantage to the way Cindy asked to do it is with buddying a credit, Cindy gets immediate access to the credit rather than it sitting in credit hold until the book is marked received. To me though, if you're going to go off the reservation and bypass the FIFO line in a way that's acceptable to all parties involved, including PBS, then go for it. You just can't come back later if the book goes missing/never gets sent and ask for your credit back. The PBS protection for that part is gone with a private deal. |
