Third in series. Seemed to follow the trend of failing movie sequels. It seemed like a good idea to produce, but then... It was tedious and ran out of steam in the middle. The twist at the end was predictable. Sadly, I didn't want to dislike this book, but I did. Boo.

Loved it! One of the comments about the book is that it is like Harry Potter grown up and I can't agree more. The magical feeling along with an almost innocence even when involved in dangerous circumstances. There were so many parts that I loved, but I think the dragons were really great. There were only two sad things about the books - that it ended and then the way that it ended. I trust that Katie is just taking a break for a little while and she and Owen will be back together soon. I hope so because I couldn't stand to read another book if they are apart. They are just too great together. And perhaps I'm a little bit in love with Owen myself.

Good book. I haven't located the second in the series so I missed some stuff, but found the characters just as charming. The romance between Katie and Owen, while sweet, was a little tame. I hated the ending, but since a fourth book is due in Jan '08 I expect the situation to be fixed.

I enjoyed the first 2 books of the series quite a bit so I was eager to read this one as well. I was not disappointed. Just as charming and fun as her previous novels.
I am going to have to disagree with other reviews, however, and say that I DID like the ending. It wasn't happy, but it felt necessary and just makes me more excited for the 4th book. The only downside is that I have to wait till April 2008 for the next installment, which currently is going to be the last as the publisher has declined to publish the 5th book (which was going to be about Owen and his past).
