Book Description:
There's trouble brewing at the Village Blend. Business is booming--but Clare's customers are starting to die. Soon after stopping at the coffeehouse, a regular jumps to her death in the subway. Or was she pushed? Detective Quinn is convinced that someone has an axe to grind, especially after the "suicide" of another female customer. Unfortunately, his prime suspect is Bruce Bowman--the new man in Clare's life. Bruce is the perfect blend of rugged good looks and potent personality. Too bad the women in his life keep turning up dead. Now Clare will risk her heart--and her life--to follow the killer's trail to the bitter end...

I wish I had read the first one first -- but this is such a delightful series, and I'm so glad I discovered it. It does have an unexpected twist in it that made me sad. My only quibble is that people just do NOT talk about coffee quite THIS much in everyday conversation. Maybe in her coffeehouse, yes. But a suspect (who happened to have killed his wife and her lover when he was younger; not a spoiler) rave about the quality of certain beans for no good reason (the conversation was in his artist's studio) was just annoying (and, I admit, made me laugh when I don't think I was supposed to). Loved the recipes, though!

I enjoyed this one even more than the first in the series! All the red herrings keep you guessing until the very end. I must have changed my mind about who did it 4 or 5 times! I liked the new love interest and the discussion of online and speed dating. As with the first one though, there was a bit too much about coffee. Every character seemed to have their own personal favorite bean and talk about it! Still, I did like this one so much that I started Latte Trouble, the 3rd in the series immediately after finishing this one!

2nd in a series of very well written mysteries.
Ms. Coyle writes books that don't treat us like we are on a 6th grade level. She throws in some very interesting details on the history of the different items she uses as backdrops in her stories yet she keeps it light enough to still be the"cozy" books that so many of us love so well.
This one has enough twists, turns, and red herrings to keep the book interesting right up untill the end...which by the way is totally unexpected.
I have the next two in the series and I will be posting them soon.

This was the first one I read in the series, and I didn't like it. I was expecting a cozy, and this came off much harder, and less lighthearted.

I actually liked this one better than the first. Except for her over use of "as" and "like". The female customers of the Village Blend are being murdered and Clare and Matteo set out to find the killer even though Quinn is convinced that it is the new boyfriend - the very desirable Bruce Bowman.

Fun murder mystery series with a coffee theme. Perfect book when you want something that grabs your attention. It even has coffee recipes and techniques.

2nd book in the Coffeehouse Series. Clare has a new man in her life but the women in his life keep turning up dead. Includes yummy recipes including marinating steak in coffee.

I really enjoy this series; great chemistry with Clare, her ex and Detective Quinn; wish there was a bit less "coffee talk," as I think it distracts from (or at least doesn't add to) the mystery. Keep the coffee in the coffeehouse!

Really enjoy this 2nd book in the series. A bit more sexual tension then the 1st. Love it :-)

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. Admittedly, it had been a while since I had read the first one and had forgotten a lot about the characters, it didn't take me long to remember them when I started reading this one. And while I love coffee, I don't exactly love hearing about it in every conversation, so that's a bit over the top for me. That is the only negative thing I can say about the book. Overall, I loved the book and am getting ready to start the next one in the series!

In this book Clare realizes that some recent suicides are somehow linked to the Village Blend. She decides to investigate and thinks it has something to do with a single group that meets there. With her daughter, Joy, deciding to join the singles group, Clare does as well, in order to screen men that might want to date Joy. And to follow up on the leads. In doing so she meets a man for herself.

Oh, and I cannot wait to try some of the coffee recipes which are included. This one has coffee marinated steak which I am definitely trying - soon!
