On a rainy Southern night, Jade Sperry endured a woman's worst nightmare at the hands of three local hell-raisers. Robbed of her youthful ideals, and at the center of scandal, she ran as far away as she could. But she never forgot the sleepy "company town" where every man, woman, and child was dependent on one wealthy family. And she never forgave their spoiled son, who with his two friends changed her life forever. Someday, somehow, she'd return... exacting a just revenge, freeing herself from her enemies' grasp, and, perhaps, fulfilling a lost promise of love.

The characters, especially our heroine Jade, were very well defined and interesting. The story kept my interest, and like any good Sandra Brown book, kept me reading long past bedtime!

The writing is good, with lots of descriptives. While I was impressed with the plot, and how it unravels (catching the reader off guard) I found the heroine's consistent line of "I just can't get over this" wore me out by the end of the book.

This is a somewhat interesting read. The plot is basically a revenge plot with a love story. There are some sad parts.

Very intense reading. Excellent work from Sandra Brown. Combines adventure, drama, and romance into one great novel.
