Greatly enjoyed this book and found it very convincing. Made me re-think what I'd learned in graduate school concerning post-structuralism.

I've tried several recipes from this book, and they are excellent. Recipes are clearly written, with ingredients that are available at supermarkets, generally. Highly recommended.

If you are a Caitlin R. Kiernan fan, then her short story about "Dead Girl" is on it's own well worth requesting this anthology for. There are four or five other short stories here that are nearly as good and that I found quite gripping and memorable.

I read that Atwood has stated that every genetic innovation that appears in this book has already been invented and could exist now. She shows a possible future that has been created "rationally" to conform to human greed and perceived need.

Charming series of romantic interludes and tragicomic family drama laced with a sub-plot involving vampires, werewolves, and evil scientists with nefarious ends in mind. Amusing and well-written. The preternatural concept strikes me as original, though I'm just getting started with the newer sci-fi/fantasy/horror coming out nowadays.

This was a fair anthology, on the whole. The Gene Wolfe story was quite good.
