Great fun - alternate world stories ! Magic works in this alternate world and Chrestomanci's job is to make sure it all goes well. I enjoyed these even though they are "young adult". If you like Harry Potter you will like these !

LOVED IT ! Like other readers, I had NO idea where KMM was going to go with this novel ! She had left Mac in dire straits after the last book - but this finished the series perfectly. It is not a quickie read, the series is gritty and hard-edged, and OH MY, this is the sexiest, by far ! I do not recommend reading this without reading the first 4 in the series - there are a lot of characters, and a fairly involved plot. But this series is totally worth the time !

I loved this book, it is adnitted hard to "get into", I read the first few chapters once, then when I understood the "when" of it, I re-read from the beginning. Each chapter has a heading that tells you how old the characters are at the time, & once you "get" it, you will love this book. It is a wonderful love story, I sat and "blubbered" quite a while upon finishing it. I can only hope the soon to be released movie does it justice.

Three lives, three generations, three vivid voices from the past voices by turn passionate, witty, bitter, and tragic -- The Yandilli Trilogy resonates with the echoes and presentiments, the myths and ancestral memories that lie beneath the surface of colonial Australia. The Second Bridegroom describes the strange, almost magical adventures of an escaped convict the first white man to set foot in New South Wales. The Grisly Wife turns on a gripping story thirty years later, in 1868, of fanaticism, religious cults, and murder. And Captivity Captive, based on an unsolved triple murder in Australia at the turn of the century, concludes the trilogy.
