My friend was reading this and I found the subject interesting enough to try it. Although the main character was not at first my favorite, he grew on me and I became invested in seeing it through.
The history relayed here seems more accurate than some historical novels I've read of the same period.
Overall, I liked it enough to go on and read the sequel.

Great book. I've read the Cork O'Connor series and love it dearly. This was totally different and excellent in the way it was written and the story was fantastic.
