Charlie's father the king dies without telling him all the details of his latest actions. With a war on the horizon, his uncles plotting, and his fiance in the process of betraying him, Charlie decides being a bad king and causing a revolt is his best move. Liked it but don't want to reread it.

What I call "cotton candy". No substance, just your typical romance.

Really enjoyed this book. I believe it is the first book written by this author under this name. I find it difficult to read books in which I dislike the characters, but these caught my attention and sympathy. The basic plot was similar to others of this genre, but was still enjoyable and proceeded logically to the end. Someone once said "It's not the destination, but the trip" and I believe it applies to books of this type. You know how the book will end, but you want to find out what happens in between. This is a relaxing, light read.

Lanen Kaelar leaves home to journey to the Dragon Isle. She dreams of communicating with the dragons as people once did. Once there, she encounters her evil (and unknown) father and his demon advisor who wish to use her against the dragons. This held my attention and I like the basic concept of the book, but it is not one I want to reread.
