Cute early reader book! Has short "e" words with only a very few frequency words, such as the, in, and is. As a homeschooling mom who has taught 10 children to read, now teaching my 11th, I recommend this book.

This is the FIRST edition. Saxon 76 can flow directly into Algebra, but for kids who need some extra time, this is the book they need. Saxon publisher has placement tests on their website.

Read in really cool English accents. Of course, since the entire story is written in the voice of Dr. Watson, then the entire story lends itself excellently to an audio book. The narration fits perfectly. We listened to it in the car, and my children of all ages enjoyed the story.
