This novel covers a wide range of serious topics regarding teens that have been huge headlines in the news in recent years. The book is dark at times, but hope is only a page or two away. Each chapter starts with a quote from the bible that relates to the story. It sends a good message that even in the darkest times, things can get better if you ask for help.

I was mad at the author for a rumor I heard about the novel, but I bought it anyway. Even though the rumor turned out to be true, I really enjoyed reading the book. I literally laughed out loud through out the book. I finished the book with a warm and fuzzy feeling, which is exactly what I was looking for when I bought the book. :)

The language in this book is so rich. I equate it to visually stunning films or shows such as "Pushing Daisies", "American Beauty", "The Fall", etc. where the imagery and characters are saturated with color and personality that you can't help but get lost the world the author has created. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good chick flik.

This book is an emotional roller coaster in the best possible way. Vanyel, the protagonist in this series, is easily relatable and had me cheering and crying out loud for him. There is a lot of action and drama that keeps the pages turning.

This is a fun read. If you love urban fantasy procedural type books (i.e. Laurel K Hamilton, Patricia Briggs, Kelley Armstrong etc.) then you'll like this book. It's not as racy as some books but Diana Rowland keeps the action going. It's a different take on the typical zombie book and I can't wait to read the second one.

Such a good book! I had no idea a cadaver could do so much. I don't think I can eat chicken soup again after reading it, but I'm still glad I did. I'd recommend it to all of my fellow Bones, Buffy, and Walking Dead fans. Not for readers with weak stomachs.

LOVE IT! If you love the TV series, you'll love the books. The story lines are often similar, but different enough from the TV show to keep it fresh. I don't keep many books, as I like to read and redistribute, but I'm keeping all of these.

Anyone who likes the Walking Dead series will like this book. It focuses on the human aspect of a world wide plague. I had a hard time putting the book down because I wanted to see what the next country came up with to deal with the problem of a never ending tide of zombies crashing against their walls and inevitably rising up within them. I can't wait for the movie!
