The Accidental (Audio CD) (Unabridged)

I usually love books that tell a story from multiple points of view but I did not care for this one at all. Maybe it is a better read than as an audiobook where you can't skip through all the nonsense. (Yes much of the nonsense was poetical but nonsense just the same.) And not a single character was in the least bit likable!

Fluke: Or, I Know Why the Winged Whale Sings (Audio Cassette) (Unabridged)

An unusual blend of science, offbeat humor and nature. I love Christopher Moore's books because his take on life is delightfully skewed. This unabridged audiobook book serves up even more than his usual wickedly funny fare.

This is a wonderful and unusual book. Set in 12th century England, an early forensic pathologist (who is, amazingly, a woman) works to uncover the identity of a mass murderer who targets children. The detail is rich and authentic and the characters are multi-faceted. Midway through this book, I immediately ordered two more of this author's titles.

An important book for the parents of any middle school student. These are the years most adults would choose to forget, but understanding their child's world is the first step parents must take in order to effectively help them grow strong.
