This book was MUCH better than I expected. I wondered if there was a ghost writer, but Jeff says in the book that he fired the ghostwriter and finished the book himself. He's a very good storyteller and the book is well done. Highly recommended.

I'm only about 1/3 of the way through this and I'm enjoying the story/narrative. However, it's evident that Mr. Register is an academic and writes with a somewhat pretentious sociological vocabulary, if you see what I mean. Slogging through.
Completed reading after about 6 weeks--notice lots of tangential information, perhaps there's not enough to Thompson's life story for an entire book? But most are relevant and interesting, just have almost nothing to do with Thompson. Not much about Coney itself--apparently Thompson was only involved at the very beginning of Luna Park.

Fantastic book for beginners and a thorough overview of the history of game play that brought about modern escape rooms. Basic review of various codes, locks and puzzle types but not much technical detail on combining them or creating a good overall game/story flow.

Amazing amount of detail (okay, I skipped a few pages) and had really hoped to learn more about the 1964 NYWF, which unfortunately was somewhat glossed over, but learned an incredible amount about Robert Moses that I did not know. Now want to go back and read some personal writings and interviews with him. Also surprised that Jane Jacobs was never mentioned, but don't know that much about her yet other than she objected to his method of city building. Having driving through that area several times, it was really fascinating to learn about how they were developed and his plan came together.

Interesting stories and anecdotes from Mr. Cronkite's life, especially from WWII through the politics of the 1960's and 70's. Includes several stories about his interviewees and friendships with notable figures, celebrities and politicians, as part of his career with CBS. It was most interesting to learn details about the history of the time period since that was all taking place as I was growing up and as a kid, wasn't really paying that much attention to the news. So unless you have an interest in the time period, I can't imagine, for example, my own kids taking an interest in reading this--though it would be an easy read for a book report or biography assignment. His writing style is very casual and like listening to your grandfather
