Excellent stories. Very true to the "Bolo" writing style of Laumer.

Many Bolo books are a collection of short stories. "Bolo Brigade" is a full-length novel (376 pages) about two Mark XXIV Bolos ("Freddy" and "Ferdy") and their heroic efforts to perform their duty against invaders (the Malach, a nasty and technically deadly dinosaur-like race). This book, written by William H. Keith, Jr., is a fast action page turner.

Very enjoyable book. Very fast-paced blend of high tech/sci-fi and adventure. The plot keeps you guessing until the last pages.

A very interesting story! The premise is that China decides to use its massive population and resources to conquer the world, starting with Korea, Japan, India, etc. A complacent U.S. waits too long to start a military buildup, resulting in a Chinese invasion of the U.S. mainland in the Gulf of Mexico states (launched from cooperative Cuba) plus the West Coast (San Diego). Both the U.S. and China decline to use nuclear weapons (similar to the Korean War), so the war is fought with conventional weapons.

The book starts a bit slow, but once the invasion commences, the action is non-stop. Difficult to put the book down! A very good read.

This book was a pleasant surprise. I had not read a book by Ward before, and the topic/title sounded potentially trite (aliens invade Earth!). However, the author included some interesting twists in the plot, and his writing style was very enjoyable. A very fast paced yarn. Thumbs up!

This book contains two novelettes. The first story is about a Mark XXX Model CSR (Ceasar) Bolo who proceeds in a mysterious "rogue" manner. The second story is about Unit JNA "Johnny", a museum display who revives to protect an outpost planet. Both are OK Bolo stories.

Joseph Gray was a child prodigy who grew up to be a Bill Gates-like mega-innovator (space travel, robots, computers, etc.) and multi-billionaire with big plans. One of his creations is an advanced neural net computer that may be independently intelligent but that may also be having psychological problems. Dr. Laura Aldridge, brilliant but controversial Harvard professor of psychology, is hired (one week for one million dollars!) to diagnose the computer. The action is fast paced, and the ideas are intelligent in this "cyberthriller". Definitely worth a read -- and there's a lot of it (657 pages).

This is a collection seven short stories. Some of the stories use traditional Bolo themes, but some of the stories use new topics. In general, a very good read, if you like Bolo stories.
